Less than a week until Christmas!

Ok, so I've pretty much failed at the Christmas countdown, but I haven't really been able to blog lately. 6 days until Christmas everyone! I am entering last minute panic mode, trying to finish presents and some schoolwork. Christmas gets harder every year, with all the stress of presents, decorating, gift wrapping, etc. Of course, those are all fun things to do, but sometimes it's good to just slow down and remember what Christmas is. Jesus Christ our savior was born, and blessed all of our lives with his miraculous gift. So, I'll get back to making Christmas gifts, but everyone try to remember the reason we're making and giving them in the first place. And, just because, here's one of my favorite Calvin and Hobbes Christmas moments! :)

Merry Christmas everyone!

Birthdays!

Today is December 8, Sydney and Sabrina's birthday! I have a devil's food cake in the oven, they opened presents a little while ago, and now they're playing with their new toys. Today we also got a Christmas tree. It is a classic Christmas tree. It's just how a Christmas tree should be:) I sound like a little kid. And of course, the Christmas countdown, 17 days until Christmas! I need to get a move on making presents. Seems like I'm always finishing presents at the last minute. Well anyway, enjoy your Saturday!

St. Nikolaus Tag, twins' birthdays, and Countdown to Christmas!

Yesterday night St. Nikolaus(or St. Nicholas, if you prefer) came! For those of you who are confused about Santa coming, no, we don't celebrate Christmas early. St. Nikolaus Tag is a German tradition where everyone puts a shoe out December 5, and St. Nikolaus comes during the night and puts candy in all the shoes! Of course, there're lots of different legends about St. Nicholas, so I'll let you go look that up yourself on Wikipedia. It's a super fun tradition that our family has celebrated for as long as I can remember. Tomorrow, December 8, is the birthday of two very special girls. They are super excited to turn seven! I can't believe they'll be old enough to get baptized in a year. Crazy, right? So in addition to Christmas presents I'm making birthday presents. I'm kind of excited about them too:) And, last but not least, I'm starting a late Christmas countdown. 18 days until Christmas everyone! Merry Christmas!

I'm going to blog, just for the sake of blogging. I had a good thanksgiving at my grandparents' house, we ate lots of food, slept in uncomfortable spaces, went to sonic(awesomeness!!), went black friday shopping, I took a nap(what is wrong with me, I never take naps?), ate more, came home. Then I watched what is honestly one of the weirdest movies I've ever watched, and then I went to sleep. Then I had seminary today. And I was tired. And then I had piano lessons. And then Sydney had to go to the emergency room:( She's doing better now though than she was hours ago so don't worry. Now I'm really tired and I'm going to go find a book.

There's my post for the day, just so I can say I did it:)

Happy Thanksgiving! Or Thanksgiving Eve...?

So it's not quite Thanksgiving day yet, but happy Thanksgiving Eve! I'm making the "Eve" officially a holiday now by the way, so now you know. I probably won't be blogging tomorrow, in all the craziness of Thanksgiving, so I might as well do it now. Today we're driving about three and a half to four hours to my grandmamma's house, then staying there until either Saturday or Sunday, I'm not sure which one. Tomorrow will probably (and when I say probably, I mean most definitely)be a crazy day, getting everything ready for dinner, desserts, etc. Then Friday will be black Friday. Oh black friday. As much as I love the one time of year where we stand in line for hours in the freezing cold at O' dark thirty in the morning, some of the stores are being unfair. Why do you need to open on Thanksgiving day? As early as 8:00? Why not let everyone just enjoy their dinner and visit? It won't hurt you to wait one more day! I feel betrayed. Oh well. It's not like I'm going to go on Thanksgiving anyway. I wait until the next day to go shopping. Sleep is very important to me. But this is a time every year that I get to spend with my mom, and that's the best part. It's hard to have time alone with your mom when you have five younger siblings, and that's the main reason I love black friday:) And then we can mainly relax the rest of the day with family:) I might even blog tomorrow or Friday and tell you what all we had for dinner! Please post what you had and we can compare recipes:) And I'm so excited to see my Grandma and Boppa! Anyway, happy Thanksgiving Eve everyone! Yep, officially a holiday now.

RED

So has anyone else heard or gotten Taylor Swift's new album RED? It's pretty good, and now I have jumbles or mixtures or whatever of the songs in my head. Stay, stay, stay, never, ever ever, getting back together, all we know, is touch and go. This is really confusing. Anyway, if you like Taylor Swift(or love Taylor Swift), you should get her new album. It's good:) Oh and just to let you know, I'm going to try and blog every day, or at least once a week, so check my blog more often:)

I feel like writing about my life

So, I haven't blogged in while, and I guess now's as good a time as any to share what's going on in my life. First of all, seminary started about a month and a half ago. Having a hard time keeping up with my sleep. I just might take a nap after I'm finished writing this. But I'm doing really good with it, I think. I would, of course, love more sleep, but I think the more structured schedule is helping me to progress. So far, I've memorized four scripture masterys (is masterys a word?), I've been reading scriptures on a regular basis, and strengthening my testimony and my friendships. We also had Young Women in excellence last night. For those of you that don't know what that is, it is an activity the lds church has once a year for girls 12 to 18 to show off their talents, accomplishments, etc. We had some yummy soup, some awesome displays, a few wonderful talks, and some pretty musical numbers. All in all, a good night. Also, co-op classes have been going for about seven weeks, and that's been pretty awesome. I am taking Pyramid Project, a math and science class that not only teaches you about math and science, it helps you to look at the world with the eyes and the heart of a scientist. And one more awesome thing: my mom teaches it! :) I'm also taking Economics, which is sometimes confusing, but really interesting and actually pretty fun! I'm learning some business strategy, which is making me want less and less to ever start a business. Oh well. In the next week or two, I'll start teaching piano lessons, which is great because it gives me experience and a steady income. Yay! I can finally start making some headway toward that $7,500 keyboard that writes the music for me! Speaking of writing music, I'm on the lookout for a songwriting retreat for teens. Ever since my lovely friend Virginia decided to go on a writing retreat, it gave me the idea to go on a songwriting retreat! I'm currently researching (googling), but if anyone knows of a good one that is or has a class or workshop of something that is specifically songwriting, would you tell me? Thanks!

Well, that's about all that's going on in my life right now, so this post is now coming to an end.

P.S.
Marley your bunny is really cute! :)

Summer!!!!!!

So with summer finally here, I am resting up for a very busy vacation which means I'm inching closer and closer to.......wait for it.....wait for it....GIRLS CAMP!!!!!!! YAY!!  Haha this is my third year going to camp and I'm super excited. Can you tell? Before that is family reunion, which sounds like it will be very fun, and before that, is TREK!!! Since this is my first trek, I'm super excited about walking for three days with one change of clothes, 17 pounds of personal belongings (including clothes I'm not wearing), in hot weather that could vary (who knows? This is Washington), pushing or pulling a handcart, dressing like a pioneer which includes skirt, bonnet, buttoned-up-to-my-neck-so-I-could-choke-and-die-shirts, capris underneath the skirt, and an apron. This should be an interesting experience. But there will also be dancing, and testimony building, and it WILL be a once in a lifetime experience. Then my summer slows down and I'll probably just do nothing for the rest of the summer. Which is good. And then my schoolyear starts and I'm going into highschool which is exciting and intimidating at the same time, but it should be great. Anyway, since I've told you pretty much everything I have planned for the next two and a half months, feel free to post what you're doing in the comments and whatever:)
